Village Concerts series will present jazz concert in Riverside – Press Enterprise
The Village Concerts series of chamber music concerts will present “An Afternoon of Jazz With Hiro Goto,” the third concert of the 2023-24 season, 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, in the Memorial Chapel at Westmont Village, 17050 Arnold Drive, Riverside.
Tomasz Golka, artistic director of the Village Concerts and music director of the Riverside Philharmonic, will present the program with jazz violinist Hiro Goto and his band — Cooper Wolken, drums; Marcus Buser, bass; and Ted Case, piano.
The program will feature jazz, swing, blues and more.
Goto, who started playing classical violin in Japan when he was young, branched out into jazz, bluegrass and and other music after moving to the United States, according to a news release.
All four band members are active professional musicians in Southern California.
Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for students, available at the door.
